The City of Light – The life of Jesus-Christ is as relevant now as it was then. It helps our understanding to think of His life as manifesting in an eternal moment. He forged a path of light through the darkness and established the Church and the sacraments that have been transmitted through the centuries to our present day. The possibility of forgiveness and redemption is ever present and available to us. We should pray for the Catholic Church as it is greatly in need of our prayers.
In the past one hundred and eighty years our Heavenly Mother, Mary, appeared thousands of times to seers at La Sallette, France; La Fraudais, France; Tilly, France; Fatima, France; Akita, Japan; Quito, Ecuador; Garabandal, Spain; Medjugorge, Bosnia-Herzegovina; Lourdes, France and to dozens of other people, such as Francesco Forgione (Padre Pio) in Italy. The apparitions in Medjugorge and the apparitions to Luz De Maria De Bonilla in Argentina, originally in Costa Rica, are ongoing.
The City of Light – The Garden of Eden
Most, if not all, of these Marian apparitions have been diligently investigated by the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith and have been thereafter declared ‘Worthy of Belief’. Our Heavenly Mother has been warning us of the chastisements that we are to suffer because of humanity’s unrepentant worshiping of false gods, of our persistent denial of God, of the Word of God and our rejection of the Son of God, Jesus-Christ, as the path to redemption.
We stopped believing in the supernatural, although we come from Spirit and will go back to Spirit. The world of men is cradled by the supernatural. Dark forces exist. They take on both spirit and physical forms and, make no mistake about it, they are constantly, without pause, impressing themselves upon us. It is not possible for us to resist and counter such temptations without Heavenly protection. We only have one thing to do to receive this, to humbly ask. This is one of the fundamental pillars of reality.
We are told that the earth is to be purified and purged of the deeds of men, so that it may be renewed. Humanity appears to be on the doorstep of its own Calvary experience. This promises to be an extremely difficult time for all. Mercifully it includes an ‘Illumination of Conscience’.
Jesus was betrayed in the garden of Gethsemane, arrested, subjected to the pretense of a trial, condemned to death by mob rule, flogged, mocked as king of the Jews with a crown of thorns, made to carry His cross up to Golgotha, on the way falling to the ground three times. At the top he was nailed to the cross, pierced with a lance and left there until His passing before which he uttered the final words “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit”. We are quintessentially Spirit and we truly belong in Heaven. If we cannot find the way to the City of Light, we have nobody else to blame but ourselves. We are our own worst enemy.
Jesus suffered because he allowed himself to be victimized, as without the suffering and the liberating death, there could not have been a Resurrection. God is the Creator of Heaven and Earth and He incarnated as Christ to show us the way to our own resurrection. His death on earth is not a sign of weakness but a supreme expression of Divine Love, not dissimilar to that of a parent dying to save their child, infinitely scaled up.
The Passion of Christ is of critical importance to all, and especially so to us Catholics. It is not courage that is required of us but something which is much, much harder to achieve. We are called upon to surrender to God’s Will, as Jesus did when on the Mount of Olives “..not my will, but thine be done”.
Humanity has long lost its way. The forces of darkness are now prevailing throughout the world, seeking out, and bringing countless souls to ruin. How did we get here. Our souls have free will and we have, so far, mostly succumbed to the will of dark forces. We have made, and continue to make, bad choices as well as having omitted, and continue to omit, making good choices.
Goodness is not a self-created human attribute. Our propensity towards goodness was intended by our Creator.
The City of Light – The Communion of Saints
Reality has inherent patterns, as intended. Good choices produce good results. Bad choices produce negative outcomes, affecting both us and others. This is the definition of good and bad. Good and bad are transcendental characteristics and are to be seen, not only from the perspective of the physical, but also from the perspective of our souls. We should be very alert to choices and actions that are bad for our spirit as the repercussions of these are far-reaching. The consequences of what we say, feel, think or do are like ripples that expand outwards from the present into future.
It is impossible for us, as people with our limited awareness, to comprehend the immensity of the harm caused by the collective sinning of mankind from the Beginning to the End of Days. It is not difficult however to appreciate that only God incarnate, through Jesus-Christ, could possibly have the Love, the Power, and the Will to transmute such an incalculable volume of accumulated evil.
When we say that Jesus suffered and died on the cross for the redemption of our sins, that is literally true.
